Be sure to get ready for the cold season by reducing your watering. In the fall, your plants need less than half the water needed during the summer. Over the winter, you can turn off irrigation altogether.

The new restrictions were approved, despite the fact that the county exceeded Gov. Gavin Newsom’s call for a reduction of 15% compared to 2020, using 19% less water in July when compared to July 2020, well above the statewide average of a 10% savings.

The U.S. Drought Monitor report from May 3 shows 92% of California in a severe drought and about 40% of the state experiencing extreme drought conditions.
