Onofre Salas-Lozano worked as a night supervisor for the janitorial services contractor that cleaned the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital.

The county plans to join other California counties in a new experimental state program that targets methamphetamine addiction by rewarding patients with gift cards for negative drug tests, up to $599 per year.

A federal grand jury had indicted Dr. John Giacomini n March 2020, charging him with one count of abusive sexual contact with a subordinate at the VA hospital in Palo Alto. Giacomini pleaded guilty to the charge, which is a felony.
