Pastas, frozen meals, wraps and salads, have been added to the list of products sold in the Bay Area and nationally now included in a meat and poultry recall first announced last week.

May 23 was the deadline to turn in 42,802 valid signatures of voters in the district, which includes parts of Alameda and Santa Clara counties.

Rescue California, which could begin gathering signatures on its recall petition within a matter of weeks, needs about 1.31 million valid signatures from registered California voters to qualify for the ballot. Voters overwhelmingly rejected a 2021 recall. 

The Food and Drug Administration also announced that California-based Trader Joe's earlier this month has recalled four products as part of a nationwide, multi-year dairy recall that has left two dead and over two-dozen sickened by listeria. The products are several salad kits and a pre-made enchilada dish.
