Santa Clara University is on a crash course into the national spotlight this week as it launches an investigation into campus policing.

After several delays and stalled pilot programs, the city of San Jose and its police union have reached an agreement that should lead to all officers being equipped with body-worn cameras by next summer.

Back in 1999, the San Jose Police Department led the charge in collecting racial data about the people it stops and arrests. But it's been five years since the the agency has analyzed any of that information.
