The Santa Clara County supervisor says he already has raised $600,000 in federal campaign funds.

The program came in response to state housing goals, but a new proposal for a 24-unit apartment building has put residents on edge.

Since 1969, it’s been a crime punishable for up to six months in jail of a fine of up to $1,000 for non-residents to set foot in the park.

Attorney Rebecca Eisenberg, planning commissioners Ed Lauing and Cari Templeton and Councilwoman Lydia Kou are also in the running.

Also in the running are fellow planning commissioner Ed Lauing, attorney Rebecca Eisenberg and incumbent Councilwoman Lydia Kou.

The Palo Alto City Council voted unanimously to allocate $3 million to subsidize as many as 120 sub-market-rate rental units for teachers.  

After three years of emotional pleas and legal wrangling, the fate of Buena Vista Mobile Home Park comes down to a final vote.
