Former Santa Clara Mayor Patricia Mahan, who’s again running for City Council, has been accused of failing to register as a lobbyist.

An avowed atheist has sued the city of Santa Clara for disregarding his demands to remove a Christian cross from a public park.

In a unanimous vote, Santa Clara’s City Council appointed Kathy Watanabe to the seat vacated when Lisa Gillmor was named mayor.
