Jairon Escobar, owner and operator of Radiator & Body Parts in San Jose, was charged with jacking up an insurance damage estimate on a “newly purchased” bait car with a single dent to include thousands in damages that did not exist. 

Thomas Truong was fired by Farmers Insurance after an insurance investigator uncovered the fraud.

A 1968 Oldsmobile 442 that the suspect, Marcus Hooks, filed an $80,000 claim for had not been stolen and wasn’t owned by Hooks, according to prosecutors.

Robert Foster, 48, of Morgan Hill, pleaded no contest to a series of felony fraud charges in connection with his security business and will be sentenced to three years in county jail and two years of mandatory supervision. Foster will repay $1.13 million to Everest National Insurance and the Employment Development Department.
