San Jose police said Lucien Cabrera, 19, built illegal guns in his San Jose home and brazenly marketed them on social media.

When San Jose police officers with the Metro and Violent Crimes Enforcement Teams served a fentanyl-related search warrant at an unhoused encampment in south San Jose on Sunday, they discovered a big haul of cash and illegal drugs. Two primary suspects were taken into custody nearby and the subsequent search yielded two firearms, narcotics for sale, drug paraphernalia, and over $17,000 in cash, according to police. Both suspects had been prohibited from owning firearms because of prior criminal records, police said.

Police seized over 37 pounds of cocaine and 17 pounds of crack cocaine valued at over $2 million, plus weapons and approximately $120,000 in cash.

Detectives said the illegal drugs manufactured and sold in the Santa Teresa neighborhood by suspect Luis Carrillo-Moyeda, 32, of San Jose, are commonly known as “Tusi,” “2C,” “Pink Cocaine,” “Pantera Rosa,” or “Pink Panther."

In December, San Jose Special Operations METRO Unit Officers learned that a commercial property in the 2400 block of Autumnvale Drive housed an illegal gambling establishment that also offered illegal drugs and prostitution.

The investigation linked Matthew Freudenblum, 24, of Sunnyvale to two different storage facilities as likely warehousing locations for stolen goods.

During the police department's initial investigation into the gun crimes charges against Denis Shevchenko in October, a search warrant revealed electronic devices, in which investigators said they discovered images and videos of child pornography.

The gang members, suspects in several violent crimes over the past six months, were arrested last week in San Jose as part of a sting that netted weapons and stolen property.

A 20-year-old California would remove guns from people deemed too dangerous to be armed. The measure, plagued by problems, has not achieved its promise.
