The iconic California burger chain known for its not-so-secret menu and cups printed with Bible verses banned its employees in five states from wearing masks at work, except California and Oregon.

Across the state, the mandatory minimum wage for all employers, regardless of the number of employees, will be $15.50 per hour.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law this week that requires large employers in California to offer workers up to 80 hours of COVID-related paid sick leave. But there’s a catch: The bill, which the Legislature passed on Feb. 7, doesn’t apply to small employers with 25 or fewer workers.

Santa Clara County has the nation’s highest vaccination rate among large counties, and one of the highest vaccination rates among all counties, according to CDC data.  As of June 20, 2021, 80% of residents aged 12 and older have received their first dose, and over 71% of residents aged 12 and older were fully vaccinated.
