More than 50 hours after a gas leak was first reported, PG&E released detailed information, in response to questions from San Jose Inside, about the Wednesday leak that had forced the evacuation of hundreds of San Jose residents.

A gas line ruptured by a private contractor near Race Street and Eugene Avenue forced the evacuation Wednesday afternoon of approximately 325 homes in a neighborhood west of San Jose Diridon Station.
