Latino Legislators’ Party Flyer Causes Stir?

By the looks of a flyer that was circulating in the state’s capitol this week, the D7 Crew ain’t nothing to mess with. In reality, though, the D7 Crew is a group of freshmen Democrat and Latino State Assembly members whose end-of-session party invitation rose “Capitol eyebrows,” according to a headline in the Sacramento Bee’s political blog, Capitol Alert.

The group of Assembly members, which includes San Jose’s Nora Campos, apparently sent out a flyer for an end-of-session party taking place Wednesday night at Simon’s Bar, located just a few blocks from the Capitol. The flyer has a distinct club look, and the event promised to have a “DJ spinning the old school jamz from your hood!”

The Assembly members listed on the invitation include: Campos, whose office could be bracing for the potential fallout of accepting $1,000 in contributions from solar-tech failure Solyndra, which received hundreds of million in subsidies;  Luis Alejo, of Salinas; Michael Allen, of Santa Rosa; Roger Hernández, of West Covina; Ben Hueso, of Chula Vista; Ricardo Lara, of Bell Gardens; and Henry T. Perea, of Fresno.

The event was co-sponsored by the California Latino Capitol Association, and according to the Bee’s blog, “some in the Capitol community are saying the flyer evokes negative stereotypes of Latinos.”

Perea was quoted as saying those people are missing the point. And he probably has a point.

“The seven of us are all Latino. We all come from diverse backgrounds in different parts of the state,” Perea told the Bee. “As we were talking about doing an end-of-session bash, and remembering where we came from, we started talking about the things we saw as we grew up. So that’s really all it is.”

While the flyer’s look is a bit outside the norm for political standards, what are the chances that “some in the Capitol community” who felt uncomfortable about the invitations were older, white people? Just saying.

    • According to Joaquin Avila, only Latinos are entitled to voting right protection and non citizens should be allowed the right to vote in local elections.

  1. Interesting…..I agree that demographic’s dictate outcome….however I remember people being in an uproar when SJPD were arresting Latinos in downtown San Jose at an “alarming rate”, yet demographic’s did not play a role in those circumstances….but racial profiling did.

    The double standards are amazing.

  2. > The double standards are amazing.

For those unclear about the standards, allow me to provide a refresher:

    A. If you are Latino, you must vote for your “ethnicity”.

    B.  If you are “white”, you must vote for diversity.

    C. “White” people are NOT diverse.

    D. “White” people are “diverse” only when they vote for ethnicities that are other than “white”.

    Got it?

  3. I don’t know about “older white people,” but it is unlikely they would hold a Fifties Revival Party.

More importantly, this event and the flyer are a wake up call to everyone that many in San Jose and other municipalities are now fully committed to multi-racialism.

Pluralism as an idea from the turn of the 20th Century morphed into multiculturalism in the sixties and seventies, and it has now morphed into multi-racialism.

The “older, white people” don’t understand this clearly, but many others are clear that demography must dictate outcomes.  It is critical that this be understood because one of the first backlashes to the New Multi-Racial Order will be a growing reluctance to pay taxes to support it.

Mind you, I’m not advocating a backlash, but voting against new taxes will be as natural as saying “Tea Party” or “No New Taxes” or “Vote No” on all those property taxes.

  4. This is what you can label as brown on brown crime, the red lettering indicative of northern Hispanic gangs, word hood again referencing gang territory, old english letters, d7 is the name or symbol of their gang.
This is the leadership who claim to be helping their people. Reality they divide them so they can have power. They do not want equality because then they have no edge. They only have to compete against other Hispanics and demand loyalty of the Hispanic community to vote for race first.
How many young kids will die, kill others and ruin lives before the very people who should be setting an example grow up. What about all of the Mexican nationals or southern California Hispanics who fear these northern California gangs. All this shows is these people are rude lack respect and have very little intelligence. Community leaders should not use gang symbols they are offensive and racist. The fact they can’t see this shows they are not suited to lead.

    Interesting analysis!

Looked at in the context of the history of civilization, it provides an interesting reference point.

Before there was civilization, there were tribes.

Members of the tribe were “people”, everyone else was prey.

The tribe members submitted themselves to the dictates of the leader; the leader led the tribe on raids of neighboring tribes to steal their women, livestock, and food, and kill their warriors and children.

Tribalism is fundamental, primiative human behavior.

Christianity, which assigned all people human dignity, and commerce, which based human interaction on trade rather than violence, were great social milestones on the ascent from tribalism.

But the urge to tribalism remains strong today, and the ruling class elites are fostering and enabling tribalism every where you look: ethnic politics, gangs, unions, womens groups, gay groups, etc, etc.  Really, what “community organizers” do is foster tribalism.

The ruling class modus operandum is the same as it was two thousand, five thousand, or twenty thousand years ago:  tribalists follow the leader, and the leader will lead the tribe on raids against . . . (fill in the name of the enemy tribe here: Surenos, white people, the rich, millionaires and billionaries, corporate jet owners, evangelical Christians, etc., etc.)

Obama, George Soros, Andy Stern, Richard Trumpka, Jimmy Hoffa, Jesse Jackson, Nora Campos, . . . these people do not want harmony and cooperation among humanity:  they want to lead their tribe on raids on neighboring villages and steal the women, steal the livestock, and burn the houses.

  6. Why is there even such an organization like “California Latino Capitol Association”? Can one imagine the outcry if there was a “California Caucasian Capitol Association”? Why does our media and society turn a blind eye to these double standards?

  7. Max – I’m not knocking anyone for wanting to belong to a group a club or a tribe. A fact people do better in groups they build relationships when they work together. My point is elected officials glamorizing symbols that in reality are deadly to the very people they claim to represent.  It is offensive and harmful.  Ask yourself if a group of Germans put up a notice with nazi symbols ? When when men embrace the confederate flag it offensive to many.  We could go round and round in a debate but the reality is that flier is offensive to many Mexican nationals who suffer from intolerance from those claiming to be nortenos.  The symbols are taken out of prison and street gangs. Some are a form of calo and related to the zuit suit days. Today it is identified as gang colors.
It’s a bad idea to try and spin something like this as tribal or a group thing when it’s really harmful. There are reasons why schools prevent this type of grouping.  If you do not believe me get a blue shirt with LA on it go down town San Jose on cinch demayo with a few of your younger Hispanic friends.  I’m kidding I actually would be seriously worried for your safety.

  8. > Why does our media and society turn a blind eye to these double standards?

Because the ruling class wants endless tribal warfare so they can loot our economy while everyone is distracted.

  9. Max the media is owned by a few rich men who can careless about you or me.  They care about their money and power. They are ruthless and breed their mentality.  We need to stop listening to them and vote anyone who has held any office out.

    • > Max the media is owned by a few rich men who can careless about you or me.

George Soros, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Peter Lewis, David Geffen, Steve Bing, Ron Burkle, . . . .

      > . . . and vote anyone who has held any office out.

      NO! NO! NO!

Know the difference between your friends and your enemies.

Punish your enemies, BUT SUPPORT YOUR FRIENDS.
