Shirakawa Campaign Tied to Lobbyist Vicki Iseman

Presumptive Favorite Claims Relationship Not Romantic

A bombshell story yesterday coming out of La Oferta, San Jose’s Hispanic newspaper, linked county supervisor hopeful George Shirakawa, Jr. with former McCain lover/lobbyist Vicki Iseman, in what might be the only thing stopping a Shirakawa coronation in his race to succeed Blanca Alvarado in District 2.

“We learned of several meetings between Shirakawa and Iseman early last month,” said La Oferta intern Manny Diaz. “She looked good in her bikini on the beach in Costa Rica; he, not-so-good in his Speedo.”

Shirakawa doesn’t deny his presence in Costa Rica but says he was there for business, attending a fundraiser of big Central American donors.

“My meeting with Ms. Iseman was purely coincidental,” he explained. “She was there, escorted by some old guy, as a contestant in the Miss Reef Costa Rica
contest.  I happened to be a judge. We met, hit it off and I hired her to run my campaign. That guy is too old for her anyway.”

Shirakawa vows to keep his campaign local but does not deny that he will use all of Ms. Iseman’s contacts to their fullest extent. “We plan to use her client’s jet in order to reach all of the honest and hardworking voters of District 2,” he said.

In related news, the Clinton campaign is denying reports that she owns a large chunk of Abraham Lincoln paraphernalia acquired as an in-lieu-of fee for work she did running many of perennial candidate Andy Diaz’s campaigns.

  1. Great photo of the contest.  I was going to vote for Obama, but if that contest is part of McCain’s “Straight Talk” strategy then he gets my vote.

  2. THIS JUST IN:

Several San Jose Inside Bloggers threaten to go on a hunger strike, unless and until “bikini filters” are placed on SJ Inside Blog.  “We’ve got to get to the bottom of this,” said former Mayor Tom McEnery, “we want everyone to feel comfortable posting on this blog.”  (Calls to John McEnery’s office were not returned).

Pete Constant just had a heart attack after visiting SJI with a city computer.  The “Little Saigon” supporters state they will have similar contests every Friday during Happy Hour if the vote for “Little Saigon” passes.  Kathleen demands that a picture of George Shirakawa in a thong be posted.

The rest of San Jose, and Santa Clara county, goes on a hunger strike until the George Shirakawa photo is removed.

  4. If Santa Clara County and the City of San Jose are serious about eliminating their structural deficits, then they should legalize prostitution.  The city and county could greatly increase revenues through business taxes and licenses.  Phaedra and Bob Brownstein would be satisfied because the prostitutes would be unionized.  Prof. Terry and Cindy could even supply the labor pool from their political science classes.  Geeks like me wouldn’t have to worry anymore about making women’s skin crawl when I approach them.

  5. The City of San Jose should initiate a hostile takeover of the financially troubled City of Vallejo.  We have a common heritage, at one time we were each the state capital.  San Jose and Vallejo like to lose money.  We also complement each other, low crime/high crime rate, south bay/north bay.

  6. #3-“Kathleen demands that a picture of George Shirakawa in a thong be posted.” Okay Not A Novice, I hate to say this but, I think I’d need to join the hunger protest to have the photo removed! YIKES! (Sorry George, you know I love you!)

  7. Shirkawa brought us the (screw the Brown Act!) Tropicana eminent domain fiasco last time he held office. What will be in store if he’s elected to the BOS, guided by his big time Lobbyist pals, Strangis, Saggau, et al?? Will Cindy Chavez land another lucrative consulting contract, this time from the County?? After this guy shakes your hand, be sure to count your fingers.
