The San Jose Police Department blotter for April 10-13 includes a road-raging assailant, a mystery shooter and a home invasion that ended with several arrests. The following information was taken from a report created by SJPD staff:

Location: Central Division
Type of Crime: Gang suppression
Details: Officers working gang suppression conducted high visibility patrols in known gang hot spots that resulted in the arrest of one person for possession of drugs.
Date/Time: April 10, 2014—2:10am
Location: Market and Santa Clara streets
Type of Crime: Robbery
Details: Six suspects approached three females, knocked them to the ground and took personal property from their possession. A short time later, an officer located four of the suspects walking in the area. The four suspects were arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall.
Date/Time: April 10, 2014—5:07pm
Location: Blossom Hill and Poughkeepsie roads
Type of Crime: Assault with a deadly weapon
Details: The suspect and the victim were involved in a road rage incident that ended at the above listed location. The suspect exited his vehicle and caused damage to the victim's car before he physically assaulted the victim with a blunt object. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The unidentified suspect was not located and remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.

Location: Branham Lane and Vista Park Drive
Type of Crime: Robbery
Details: The victim was approached by the suspect who physically assaulted her and took personal property from her possession. The suspect fled on foot and was followed by a witness who called police. The suspect caused damage to the witness' vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall.

Type of Crime: Gang suppression
Details: Officers working gang suppression conducted high-visibility patrols in known gang hotspots that resulted in two citations being issued and one person being arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Date/Time: April 11, 2014—1:30pm
Location: 2900 block of Durant Avenue
Type of Crime: Shooting into an unoccupied vehicle/possession of firearm
Details: Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived the suspect had fled the scene. Officers located evidence of shots being fired, but did not locate any victims. A vehicle description was broadcast and on follow up one officer located a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle was stopped and a search of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm. Two suspect were arrested and booked into the County Jail.

Location: McGinness Avenue and Sussex Drive
Type of Crime: Assault with a deadly weapon
Details: The victim walked into a local area hospital suffering from at least one gun shot wound. The victim said the shooting occurred in the area of McGinness Avenue and Sussex Drive. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The unknown suspect was not located and remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.

Details: Officers working gang suppression conducted high-visibility patrols in known gang hot spots that resulted in one citation.

Location: Shadow Woods Condos
Type of Crime: Crime prevention
Details: Crime Prevention Specialists teamed with PAL Officer along with seven cadets to contact residents of the Shadow Wood Condominiums on Townsend Drive. The aforementioned personnel distributed burglary prevention tips and invited residents to a crime prevention meeting.

Location: 100 block of East Taylor Street
Type of Crime: Armed robbery
Details: Two suspects entered the business, brandished a gun and took cash and other items from the business. No injuries were reported. The unidentified suspects fled the scene and remain at large. The investigation is ongoing.
Date/Time: April 12, 2014—9:49pm
Location: South 11th and Williams streets
Type of Crime: Shooting into an inhabited dwelling, armed robbery
Details: The suspects entered a business, brandished a gun and took money and merchandise before they fled the scene. A short time later, a physical altercation occurred and the suspect discarded a gun as he was running towards a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the suspect along with three additional suspects. It was later determined that the suspects committed the armed robbery at the business and fired a shot into a nearby home. No injuries were reported. Four suspects were arrested and booked into the County Jail.

Location: West San Carlos and Race streets
Type of Crime: Assault with a deadly weapon
Details: The suspect attempted to force his way into the victims vehicle and broke a glass bottle against the windshield. The victim attempted to drive away and struck the suspect causing him to fall to the ground. Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was booked into the County Jail.

Location: Monterey and Senter roads
Type of Crime: Assault with a deadly weapon
Details: The suspect was involved in a dispute with the victim. The suspect attempted to stab the victim with a knife. The victim suffered minor non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested and booked into the County Jail.
I’m glad to see that SJPD is so effective in combating violent crime. The MN has been remiss in publishing all the great police work that is still done, routinely, in San Jose. With hundreds of more Officers, San Jose could once again become one of America’s safest large cities.
Of course no-one publishes the ethnicity of the criminals, since that might pop Jayadev’s and Cordell’s balloons.
