No, not the City Council, the racers in the first San Jose Grand Prix, as Mark Purdy describes.
Not off to the races is former Vice Mayor Pat Dando, who has decided to take Jim Cunneen’s old job at the Chamber of Commerce instead of running for mayor, Laura Kurtzman reports. We do have an announced candidate for District 3, though, as Katherine Corcoran details the entry of Jose Posadas into that race.

I think DeCinzo has a good point this week. Maybe it would be paid for by a mayoral candidate.
Dando wouldn’t have won anyway. Cindy is vice mayor now, but Dando was during a lot of the grabage stuff. Just because she would be a business candidate instead of labor doesn’t mean she wouldn’t get those questions.
Also, what’s up with those stories about her taking all the District 10 documents with her or destroying them?
I think the time is ripe for an outsider candidate, like the Merc article says. Who will rise to the challenge?
