County Supervisors Mistakenly Shipped to “Body Worlds” Exhibit

Skin-ectomy Cancelled After Pulses Found

A tragedy was averted early Friday morning when an alert night watchman, guarding the Body Worlds exhibit at the Tech Museum of Innovation, recognized several Santa Clara County supervisors in a corner of the basement laboratory who were tagged for the initiation process of de-skinning in order to be prepped for display in the anatomical exhibit.

“These lucky legislators were next in line for the plastination process,” said one scientist in charge of human remains. “This security guard is a true hero.”

Exhibit organizers were quickly trying to piece together how the entire county board of supervisors were picked up out of their chambers, transported to the laboratory, cleaned, stripped and tagged for the initial fluid exchange process.

“This has never happened before,” said creator, Gunther von Hagens. “In fact, we have all of the signed Declarations of Intent from their families on record.”

Night watchman Renne Hauge discounts his efforts and insists that it was not the work of a hero but one of common sense. “I heard one of them ask if it was lunchtime yet,” he said. “That is when I knew they might actually still be alive.”

Attorneys for both sides were busy trying to hammer out a compromise that would allow Body Worlds to exhibit the supervisors while also giving them time off to cast votes on important issues facing the county.

  1. John, this has to be one of your best.  I just came out of the hospital yesterday and when I read this piece, I almost fell on the floor laughing.  Thanks for the humor.  You’ve made my weekend.

  2. When I was touching the internets this morning, I researched the County Supervisors.  They seem to be doing an extraordinary job.  Glad to hear this tragedy was averted.
