Council Members Told to Keep Calendars Private

After Reviewing the Embarrassing to the Boring, Meetings to be Sheltered from Public View

Just a day after San Jose officials demanded the posting of council members’ calendars online, they decried the results and asked that the elected officials make them private.

“After reviewing the meetings these public officials are taking,” said city attorney Rick Doyle, “we have decided it reflects badly on our city’s image. We will therefore quarantine them until further notice, even if that means losing track of Gallo and Strangis.”

During the brief time the calendars were public, several popular political and celebrity gossip blogs tagged many of the items, giving them a viral quality that eclipsed page views of Shaq in Phoenix, Jolie in Baghdad and Romney in limbo.

“This is just embarrassing,” said Nancy Pyle who has been targeted by aljazeera.net for meeting with Hamas leaders to negotiate a withdrawal of their presence in the Hoffman/Via Monte neighborhood. “Our calendars were not made to be ridiculed by those internet machines.”

Councilman Oliverio had to agree. “My flight to LA to support my good friend on her release from the UCLA psychiatric center is no business of TMZ.com’s,” he said.

Some legal experts believe that a court battle is imminent, but all can agree that someone should teach Anthony Drummond to use a computer.

  1. All things in the Universe eventually die.  A single cell organism, dogs, humans, languages, cultures, civilizations, stars and galaxies.  Even buildings must meet this fate.  Here is a partial list of buildings that must be demolished: Jose Theatre, California Theatre, Saint James Park Post Office, Saint James Park Superior Court, Bank of America Building, Hotel DeAnza and Hotel Montgomery.  By demolishing these old buildings and replacing them with modern steel and glass skyscrapers, we can fulfill the law of nature.

  2. Did anyone see the article about the Brown Act violations related to Madison Nguyen, and the conspiracy involves Chuck Reed.  The SAN JOSE SIX are now in as much trouble as Ron Gonzales ever got.  The snakes are all committing suicide, at least, as Dale Warner would say, “suicide by potato peeler.”

    You are correct, Just Wondering.
These structures need to be torn down and replaced with high-density “affordable” housing.
After all, it is the duty of all San Joseans to convert this city into a squalid, crowded dump so that the Googleplex will continue to have a never ending labor force.

  4. John’s reference to “aljazerra.net” reminded me …Earlier this week, the Sf Chronicle had an article about a 23 year old journalist in Afghanistan who has been sentenced to death for insulting Islam.  According to the story, he wrote a piece questioning, if Islamic law allows for a man to have four wives, why doesn’t it also allow for a woman to have four husbands? (The story went on to say that he might not be executed, that they have to work through the “legal” process.)

Say, how’s the “Little Saigon” thing going?

  5. One calendar notation was that of a meeting between various council members and representatives of those of German community.  It seems a resolution is being introduced to rename Willow Glen “Little Munich” in honor of those with deep historical ties to the German community.  The question of a poll of the residents was brought up to get their input.  That poll was nixed as a waste of time since it was going to be ignored anyway.  A few council members were seen leaving with cases of Spaten.

  6. John,

The new BART test program, when does it begin? I understand BART has ordered flat bed BART cars to help truck traffic move quicker along interstate 880 (kind of a piggy back type program). With 65% of traffic on I-880 being truck traffic, the test run should be successful.

  7. I don’t think the issue is with Mr. Drummond learning to use his computer…I think that Pete Constant being right next door it must be that his internet filter pilot program has affected calendars posting correctly…words like “meeting” and “neighborhood” have yet to clear the filter : )
