Authorities are looking for a Mountain View barber facing charges of sexual assaults against two men, one of which included a kidnapping.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office said today that Franklin Enrique Sarceno Orla, 34, jumped bail in August and is the object of an extensive law enforcement search effort. Prosecutors said police believe that Orla may have assaulted many more victims and are asking those people to come forward.
Orla was initially arrested for sexual assault in late August. He posted bail that was set at $250,000 shortly after his arrest, then disappeared.
The DA’s office said in a press release that “evidence seized by police shows that the fugitive may have assaulted at least 20 different men, who appear to be passed out and/or severely intoxicated,” and that Orla . videotaped many of the assaults.
Anyone who suspects they may have been victimized by the suspect should contact the Mountain View Police Department at (650) 903-6618 or email Detective Lauren Riffel at

or Detective Guillermo de Lira at

If caught and convicted, Orla could face life in prison.
“There was a sexual predator in our community, and we thank the Mountain View Police Department for identifying him,” District Attorney Jeff Rosen said in a statement. “With the help of courageous victims, investigators, and the public we will soon have him in custody to keep him from ever hurting anyone again.”
Mountain View police had launched an investigation after a man, in July of this year, said he woke up injured and woozy after having drinks with the suspect. Forensic testing showed the person had been sexually assaulted. Another identified victim said the suspect was his barber and he had lost consciousness while having beers with him.
Further investigation by MVPD showed that the suspect may have assaulted approximately 20 different men dating back to 2018 or before. In those cases, the men appear to be unconscious and/or intoxicated during the assaults. Police are currently in the process of identifying these victims and perhaps others.
Authorities suggest that if anyone believes they may have been victimized they should contact a physician to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases. The law protects the identities of sexual assault victims. If someone suspects they may have been victimized by Orla, the survivor will not lose their right to anonymity and confidentiality by reporting it to the police, prosecutors said.
