VTA Offers Free Rides to Polling Places on Buses, Light Rail and Paratransit

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, on the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority announced it is offering free rides on bus, light rail and paratransit to designated Santa Clara County polling or drop box locations.

Free rides will be available starting at 7am when the polls open and will continue through 8pm when the polls close.

"VTA is offering free rides on Election Day to make it easier to travel to and from polling places throughout the day,” the agency said in a statement.

The county has many polling places to choose from for local voters. Locate a polling place near you or contact the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters for complete voting information.

Riders can download the Transit app for trip planning, real-time information, and service alerts, or contact VTA Customer Service at 408-321-2300 for assistance on your way to vote.
