Police Blotter: April 14-15, 2014

The San Jose Police Department blotter for April 14-15 includes carjackings, a shooting and several robberies. The following information was taken from a report created by SJPD staff:

Date/Time: April 14, 2014—9pm

Location: Southern Division

Type of Crime: Gang Suppression

Details: Officers working gang suppression conducted high visibility patrols in known gang hot spots that resulted in increased presence.

Date/Time: April 14, 2014—11:35pm

Location: Mt. Madonna and Mt. Kenya drives

Type of Crime: Possession of stolen firearm

Details: Officers responded to reports of shots fired from a vehicle in the area. Officers located a vehicle matching the description leaving the area and conducted a vehicle stop. The occupants fled from the vehicle. One suspect was captured immediately and found to be in possession of a stolen firearm. A second suspect was located a short time later and arrested. Officers located a second firearm nearby. The suspects were booked into Juvenile Hall.

Date/Time: April 14, 2014—2:22am

Location: South Third and Santa Clara streets

Type of Crime: Robbery, assault with deadly weapon

Details: The victim was approached by several suspects who began to physically assault him. The suspects took personal property from the victim and fled the scene. The victim sustained moderate non-life-threatening injuries. Officers located one suspect and arrested him a short time later. The other unidentified suspects were not located and remain at large. The investigation is ongoing.

Date/Time: April 14, 2014—9:24am

Location: 1000 block of Delmas Avenue

Type of Crime: Carjacking

Details: A citizen was warming up her vehicle in her driveway, when she was pushed out of the way by the suspect, who then fled in her vehicle. The vehicle and suspect are still at large. The victim did not report any injuries.

Date/Time: April 14, 2014—11:16pm

Location: 2500 block of Kenoga Drive

Type of Crime: Strongarm robbery

Details: The victim was approached by a suspect who physically assaulted him and took personal property. The suspect fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The unidentified suspect was not located and remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.

Date/Time: April 15, 2014—4pm

Location: Southern Division

Type of Crime: Gang suppression

Details: Officers working gang suppression conducted high visibility patrols in known gang hot spots that resulted in the arrest of one person for drugs, violation of probation and a warrant. A second subject was arrested for a felony warrant. Two probation searches were conducted.

Date/Time: April 15, 2014—3:37am

Location: 3200 block of Williamsburg Drive

Type of Crime: Possession of loaded firearm

Details: Officers received information about a subject who was selling drugs and in possession of a firearm in the area.  Officers located a group of subjects nearby and made consensual contact. At some point, the officers located drugs and a loaded firearm in the possession of one subject and an additional subject had an outstanding felony warrant. The two subjects were booked into the County Jail.

Date/Time: April 15, 2014—2:09pm

Location: Lanai and Waverly avenues

Type of Crime: Carjacking, assault with deadly weapon

Details: The suspect and the victim got into a verbal argument. The suspect physically assaulted the victim and forcibly took her car keys. A brief struggle ensued and the suspect fled in the victims vehicle. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect has not been located and remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.
