Team San Jose Hired to Build Barrier Around Coyote Valley

Wall of Taco Trucks to Keep Aggressive Builders From Skirting Triggers

The City’s confidence in protecting Coyote Valley from evil housing developers has desperately degenerated to a point where Team San Jose has been hired to design and manage a protective barrier around the perimeter of the undeveloped Mecca of Santa Clara Valley.

Even on the heels of a successful council vote preventing the loosening of triggers that would allow housing before jobs, and over the silent eloquence of a lone Forrest Williams vote against, the city felt that more needed to be done.

Dan Fenton, Chairman of Team San Jose, unveiled his group’s plan last night which is modeled after the infamous French Maginot Line of World War II and will utilize several thousand taco trucks, recently sidelined by new and stringent rules in Salinas, by parking them “end to end to form an impenetrable line,” he said.

The rolling silver cafeterias are supposed to protect the pristine valley against rogue forces wanting to erect large residential communities under the cloak of darkness.

We will take the best of the French design,” he explained, “and staff it with some unemployed, southern Arizona Minutemen to catch all manner of developers, land swindlers and wildcatters who try to pass.”

Many skeptics don’t like the choice of Team San Jose, especially after the grand jury’s report condemning each of their previous ventures as “disasters.”

But Mr. Fenton stands by his assertion that the barrier will pay for itself. “As long as the city subsidizes it,” he said.

  1. Contrary to your insinuating and satirical remarks, Team San Jose is an efficient and well run organization.  Tens of millions of dollars in profit are generated annually by Dan Fenton and his fine team.  The city is able to use this money for infant immunization, meals for seniors and child daycare centers.

As for Forrest Williams he is more than a great communicator, he is simply intoxicating.

Forrest Williams for mayor in 2010!!!

  2. Team San Jose is another in very long list of wasteful Council tax spending for special interest groups that civil grand jury and many outside groups have documented which along with bad policy decisions many of which result in millions in legal damages costs San Jose hundreds of millions each year

Senior city staff which is supposed to work for public not politicians writes reports that inflate benefits, understates costs and only infrequently audit results or makes recommendations to stop wasteful spending or bad policies

Where is the public good and accountability for hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars wasted on non profit, developer, and corporate tax subsidies, give backs, unjustified credits, unnecessary grants and special interest policy and spending decisions each year?

  3. Native – has it right – if Coyote Valley is built,  San Jose will have increased city operating costs requiring more city staff and services cuts

Coyote Valley Developers make millions while San Jose taxpayers pay billions

New houses built in San Jose costs more in city service costs than city receives house taxes making city finances worst

Other local job rich and housing short cities are unwilling build more houses or pay San Jose to make up tax shortfall for housing for their workers

San Jose does not need any more new houses since we have sufficient homes for all San Jose jobs

In three short years many “Millions of Taxpayers $$$$$‘s” were wasted on this “Idiotic Adventure” of Mayor Gonzales, Mayor Reed and Mr. Fenton’s.  Looks like Ron Gonzales left us with a “turd” at the Convention Center.

  5. The usual insiders receiving more $$$$ millions in wasted tax subsidies with city staff support and approved by Council

Board of Directors Four distinct stakeholder groups represent Team San Jose’s 27-member Board, including organized labor, the arts, local hoteliers and the Convention and Visitors Bureau, each of which share a common interest in San Jose and its economic growth.

    Executive Committee
Daniel Fenton, Chairman of the Board – President and CEO, San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau

Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, Vice Chair – Executive Officer, South Bay AFL-CIO Labor Council

Clifton Clark, At Large – General Manager, San Jose Marriott

Jennifer Hull, Secretary – Executive Director, Children’s Musical Theatre San Jose

John Southwell, Treasurer– General Manager, Hilton San Jose

    WHERE IS Council’s FISCAL responsibilty?

  6. Team San Jose is a failure. Ask 90% of the people who have to work with them.
Actually, the 90% of those working for TSJ are too frightened to complain about the idiotic idea and crappy management. The other 10% just take their huge salaries, bask in the glory of the appearence knowing full well you can’t polish a turd.
